A boys home for the poor students is being run by Avvaiyar from 2024-2025 academic year in Ponmalaipatti area of Ponmalai zone in Trichy city corporation. This academic year, there 43 boys studying 6th standard to 12th standard in the home. The boys are provided free nutritious food, medical care, uniform dresses, note books, stationeries with tuition services through qualified wardens. The home boys are taken on annual tour to historical importance.
These boys are from the socially deprived and economically backward families. The target home boys are conducted coaching on Spoken English, Elocution and training on leadership qualities and personality development so that the student could face the future life challanges. It is expected that in the upcoming academic year of 2025-2026, the strength will be rised upto 100 in the boys home. It costs around Rs. 200/- for food expenses and other maintenance cost for a day per head.
